On February 19, 2026, a practical seminar titled “Working with Archives: Knowledge and Experience” was held within the framework of the School of Pedagogical Excellence of the Faculty of Philology, organized by the Department of Kazakh Literature. The speaker was Kemeneger Kairbek Rizabekuly, Candidate of Philological Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Kazakh Literature.
The main objective of the event was to introduce young researchers and students to the scientific and practical aspects of working with archival materials and to share experience in searching for sources, analyzing them, and incorporating them into academic research. During the seminar, the speaker emphasized the importance of archival documents in literary studies and demonstrated his personal research experience through specific examples.
During the meeting, Kemeneger Kairbek Rizabekuly provided a detailed overview of his research conducted in the archival collections of Omsk, explaining the methods of locating, selecting, and academically using archival materials. Documents and rare sources collected through research carried out in the archives of Russia and Azerbaijan, as well as in Omsk, Kazan, and Moscow, were also presented.
Special attention was given to archival materials related to the life and works of the Alash intellectuals. Important information about documents that had not previously been fully introduced into scholarly circulation was presented. The seminar highlighted new perspectives on studying national history and literary heritage through archival sources and discussed the professional culture of working with research materials.
Doctoral and master’s students, young scholars, and faculty members participated in the event, exchanging views on current academic issues. Participants received practical recommendations and became acquainted with modern methods of archival research.
The seminar, held within the framework of the School of Pedagogical Excellence, contributed to the development of students’ research skills, increased interest in academic inquiry, and strengthened the culture of professional experience exchange by combining theory and practice.
