GUEST LECTURE OF JUDGE A.TUKUBAEVA "INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND METHODS OF PROTECTION"

On February 24, 2026, at the Department "Economics and Entrepreneurship" Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyova hosted a guest online lecture for students of the 3rd course of the group B044-4105-23-02 of the educational program 6B04105 – Entrepreneurship and business economics. Ainagul Seylbekovna Tukubaeva, a judge of the Talgar district court of the Almaty region, master of legal sciences, acted as an invited lecturer.
The lecture was organized by the professor of the department Rakhmetulina J.B. within the discipline "Economics of innovation" and dedicated to the topic "Intellectual property and methods of its protection", which is of key importance for the preparation of modern entrepreneurs in the conditions of the digital economy.
During the lecture, Ainagul Seylbekovna focused attention on practical aspects of protection of the results of intellectual activity, including legal mechanisms of protection, licensing, as well as responsibility for illegal use of intellectual property objects.
An important part of the lecture was the consideration of modern threats in the digital environment, related to Internet fraud. The judge highlighted the most common forms of illegal activities, such as phishing, fictitious online stores, social engineering, investment scams and fraudulent schemes using cryptocurrency. It was noted that such crimes pose a serious danger to entrepreneurs, as they lead to financial losses, infringement of intellectual property rights, loss of business reputation and loss of trust from clients and partners.
Of particular interest to students was the discussion of legal aspects of liability for Internet fraud, including criminal and civil liability, as well as liability for participation in illegal schemes through the provision of bank accounts and electronic wallets to third parties (the so-called "dropping"). The lecturer emphasized that protection of intellectual property is impossible without legal literacy of the entrepreneur and understanding of the mechanisms of legal protection of his assets.
Conducting such meetings with representatives of the judicial system contributes to the strengthening of practical-oriented training of students, expands their professional horizons and forms modern legal thinking, necessary for successful activity in the sphere of business and innovation.
