
On the business trip carried out at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University within the framework of grant project AP25793567

Zhanzhigitov, PhD, Acting Associate Professor at the Department of Kazakh Linguistics of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, was on a business trip to Almaty from 23 to 25 February 2026 within the framework of the grant projectAP25793567 “A Pedagogical Model for Developing Lawyers’ Linguoconflictological Competence (within the implementation of the ‘Hearing State’ concept).”
During the business trip, on 23–24 February of the current year, a two-day seminar entitled “Linguistic Expertise in Legal Practice” was conducted for students of the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The seminar addressed the role of linguistic expertise in legal practice, the structure of formulating questions to an expert, and issues of critically reading and evaluating an expert opinion. The event was attended by 57 students of the “Jurisprudence” educational program.
On 25 February 2026, a report was delivered at the international scientific and practical conference “Conceptual Directions for the Development of the Judicial and Law Enforcement System: Republican and International Legal Experience” (18th Annual Khalikov Readings), held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. During the conference, pressing issues of the judicial and law enforcement system were discussed, including areas for improving law enforcement practice, digitalization, and scientific-practical cooperation.
In addition, within the framework of the business trip, a scientific meeting was held with Auyzhan Kairatkyzy Tausogarova, Associate Professor of the Department of Turkology and Language Theory at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Candidate of Philological Sciences, and author of the works «Тілдік қақтығыс: заң тоғысы, тәжірибе, шешім» (Language Conflict: Intersection with Law, Practice, and Solution, 2016) and «Лингвистикалық сараптама» (Linguistic Expertise, 2025). During the meeting, the scientific direction of the grant project was discussed, and the possibilities for future joint research and the implementation of collaborative projects were considered.
During the business trip, work was carried out with scholarly literature from the university’s library collections on issues of legal linguistics, linguistic expertise, and legal discourse.
As a result of the business trip, opportunities emerged to improve the grant project in scientific and methodological terms, expand academic ties, and further specify applied work in the fields of legal linguistics and linguoconflictology.
