"The Constitution is not only the legal basis of the state, but also a reflection of the historical choice that defines the values of its political philosophy. The proposed draft Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan should be considered as a strategic document defining a new stage of modernization. This is not just a set of legal norms, but the institutionalization of a new social contract between the state and society. The strategic core of the draft Constitution is the priority of education, science and innovation. From the point of view of political science, the Constitution is a symbol of social harmony. Therefore, the openness of the decision-making process and the level of citizen participation are of particular importance," Vice-Rector emphasized.
Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yevgeny Kochetov dwelled on the role of interethnic harmony in ensuring the sustainability of the state.:
"Interethnic harmony is one of the key pillars of stability and security in Kazakhstan. Therefore, any constitutional amendments should contain effective mechanisms aimed at strengthening the unity of citizens, supporting social harmony and preventing possible conflicts. Defining interethnic and interfaith harmony as the basis of statehood is a continuation of Kazakhstan's political experience as a multiethnic society," Vice Minister noted.
The event was particularly significant due to the participation of representatives of NGO "Assembly of Zhastary" from all regions of Kazakhstan. The young activists expressed their opinions on the main provisions of the draft new Constitution and took part in an open discussion.
