Open Spanish Language Class Held at the Department of Foreign Languages

On February 23, 2026, the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of International Relations hosted an open Spanish language class conducted by Miguel Trigo Narbona on the topic “A Weekend in Barcelona.” The class aimed to develop students’ communicative competence and enhance their speaking and reading skills. The lesson content was based on previously studied lexical and grammatical material, ensuring continuity and deeper comprehension. An intercultural component was included through a comparative discussion of Christianity and Islam, which broadened students’ perspectives and fostered argumentative speaking skills. The class was organized at a high methodological level using modern educational technologies. A variety of teaching methods were applied, including individual and group tasks, communicative exercises, and game-based activities. Students demonstrated strong engagement, confident use of grammatical structures, and a high level of interest, confirming the effectiveness of the teaching methodology.
