ENU Marks Fourth Participation in Major International Education Forum APAIE-2026

In 2026, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU) took part for the fourth time in the annual conference and exhibition of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE-2026), one of the largest international platforms dedicated to the internationalization of higher education. Previously, the University participated in APAIE-2023 (Bangkok), APAIE-2024 (Perth), and APAIE-2025 (New Delhi).
ENU’s official delegation at the exhibition was represented by Yermek Komekbayev, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department, and Yerlen Zhalgassov, Chief Specialist of the International Cooperation Department. Within the framework of the business program, they held dozens of bilateral meetings and negotiations with representatives of universities from Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia. The discussions focused on expanding academic mobility, developing joint educational programs, implementing double-degree programs, and strengthening research collaboration.
Participation in APAIE constitutes a systematic component of the University’s internationalization strategy. As a result of partnerships established at previous forums, students from Southeast Asian countries studied at ENU during 2024–2026, while ENU students gained opportunities for short-term and semester mobility at universities in Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, as well as at higher education institutions in Europe and the United States. A number of these programs are implemented on a tuition-free basis within the framework of interuniversity agreements.
APAIE is among the three largest global associations in the field of international education, alongside NAFSA and EAIE. In 2026, the forum brought together approximately 3,000 participants and more than 300 universities worldwide, including leading institutions from the United States, China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, India, Türkiye, Australia, and European countries.
The program featured strategic sessions, expert panels, and thematic seminars addressing sustainable development, digital transformation, and global partnership in higher education.
Following its participation in APAIE-2026, ENU plans to expand its network of international partners, increase the number of academic mobility programs, and sign new cooperation agreements with a number of universities and organizations, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University (QS #47), Université Paris-Saclay (QS #70), Durham University (QS #94), Tecnológico de Monterrey – ITESM (QS #187), Polytechnic Institute of Guarda (QS #165), University of Ljubljana (QS #535), University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (QS #546), Singapore University of Social Sciences – SUSS (QS Asian Ranking #627), University of Zagreb (QS #701–710), Australian Catholic University – ACU (QS #850–900), Hallym University (QS #1001–1200), Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas (QS #1001–1200), Rey Juan Carlos University (QS #1001–1200), Corvinus University of Budapest (QS #1001–1200), University of South Bohemia (QS #1001–1200), Daffodil International University (QS #1001–1200), Rowan University (QS #1101–1150), Doshişa University (QS #1201–1400), Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado – FAAP (QS Latin America #301–400), Zagreb School of Economics and Management (QS Full-time MBA #54), IAE Dijon (QS EMBA Europe #46), Royal Roads University (QS #42), IUAV University of Venice (QS WUR Ranking by Subject #9), the Tempus Foundation (unranked), University of Southern Denmark (QS #303), Autonomous University of Madrid (QS #206), and the National Institute of Applied Sciences of Toulouse (QS #201–250).
