
ENU Discusses Modernization of the “Turkology” Educational Program











A regular meeting of the Project Management Group of the Republican Educational and Methodological Council (REMC) for the field of study “Turkology” was held at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The meeting was chaired by Ardak Beisenbay, Member of the Management Board – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Deputy Chair of the REMC.
The meeting was attended by members of the project management group and representatives of the academic community. During the session, key issues related to enhancing the quality of the “Turkology” educational programme, improving its content, aligning it with labour market requirements, and developing effective mechanisms for organizing professional practice were discussed.
On the first agenda item, a report was delivered by PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Turkology and Language Theory at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Sholpan Kudyarova. In her presentation, she emphasized the importance of systematic monitoring of educational programmes and highlighted the need to continuously improve the programme content based on feedback from students and stakeholders. The speaker noted that strengthening feedback between the academic community, employers, and students is one of the key mechanisms for improving programme quality.
On the second agenda item, PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Turkology and Language Theory at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Sultanbek Kutlukjon, presented an innovative model of professional training and new educational technologies aimed at adapting the “Turkology” educational programme to labour market needs. The report comprehensively addressed the implementation of modern educational technologies, competency-based learning, and the improvement of the graduate model.
On the third agenda item, Associate Professor of the Department of Turkic Philology at Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, Erzhan Omirbayev, presented a report on effective mechanisms for organizing professional practice and ways of integrating internship outcomes into the educational process. He emphasized the practical significance of using internship results in the preparation of graduation theses and project defenses.
Following the presentations, an active discussion took place with contributions from Section Head Zhadira Aidarbekova and section members Raushan Amredinovna Avakova, Satai Syzdykov, and Gulzat Rayeva, who posed questions and shared their views.
As a result of the meeting, specific decisions were adopted aimed at enhancing the quality of the “Turkology” educational programme, taking into account the proposed innovative model in developing the Graduate Model, establishing a working group for the expert review of the educational programme, and improving the mechanisms for organizing professional practice.
