
Practice-Oriented Off-Site Training for Master’s Students in Forensic Expertise

Candidate of Legal Sciences, lecturer of the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines A.R. Yensebayeva conducted an off-site training session for Master’s students of the educational program “7M04209 – Forensic Examination” at the Educational Forensic Training Ground within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation with the Police Department of Astana City of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the practical session, students developed skills in detecting, documenting, and examining various traces and damages caused by tools and instruments. They analyzed mechanical damage to clothing, locks, knots, and seals, as well as fragments, dents, and other traces of mechanical impact. Particular attention was paid to the examination of vehicle tire marks in order to reconstruct the mechanism and circumstances of a road traffic accident.
In addition, the participants examined the specifics of gunshot and firearm-related traces, their identification value, suitability for forensic examination, and the conditions and mechanisms of their formation.
The session also covered the methodological foundations of forensic expert activity, typical tasks addressed by experts, requirements for preparing materials and formulating questions for examination, and the role of forensic expert and criminalistics specialist conclusions in the process of proof.
Conducting training sessions at specialized law enforcement facilities enhances students’ practical competencies and contributes to improving the quality of professional training in the field of forensic examination.
