
A Methodological Consultation on Map Requirements for Diploma Projects Was Held within the GIS Technology Student Research Group









On March 12, 2026, the Department of Physical and Economic Geography at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University held a methodological consultation for 4th-year students of the educational program “6B05209 – Geography” within the 2025–2026 work plan of the GIS Technology student research group.
During the meeting, graduating students received detailed explanations of the main requirements for maps used in diploma projects. In particular, the consultation covered the content, structure, design, scale, legends, titles, and the proper integration of cartographic materials into academic research.
Students were also given practical recommendations on how to prepare maps correctly, format them according to academic standards, and effectively apply geoinformation methods in diploma research. The consultation gave participants an opportunity to ask questions and receive practical guidance related to the preparation of their final projects.
The event was aimed at strengthening students’ research skills, improving their ability to work with cartographic materials, and enhancing the overall quality of diploma projects.
