Safe Educational Environment: ENU Hosts Seminar on the Prevention of Offenses and Addictions

The Center for Psychological Support at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University organized an informative seminar meeting titled “Safe Educational Environment” for students of педагогical programs. The event aimed to develop basic awareness of psychological risks, as well as to prevent offenses and various forms of addiction.

The event brought together qualified professionals who work directly with youth. Among them were Leyla Zinasheva, Chair of the Specialized Interdistrict Juvenile Court of Astana, as well as representatives of the psychosocial rehabilitation center “Fenix Rehab Astana” – Sayasat Zhumagulov, Head of the Program for Individuals with Addictive Disorders, and leading specialist Kirill Ten. They shared their practical experience and professional expertise.

In her speech, Leyla Zinasheva provided real-life case examples and spoke about the types of support available to young people facing difficult life situations. She also addressed risk factors, youth legal awareness, and the importance of seeking timely assistance.

Sayasat Zhumagulov elaborated on the issue of synthetic drug addiction, noting that over time, affected individuals tend to become withdrawn, socially isolated, and lead a hidden lifestyle. In turn, Kirill Ten discussed gambling addiction, emphasizing the difficulty of its early detection, as individuals often conceal the problem and mislead those around them. He also highlighted the psychological causes and consequences of this type of addiction.

During the meeting, the specialists engaged in an open dialogue with the audience and answered participants’ questions. Preventive measures against offenses and addictions, as well as ways to overcome them, were thoroughly explained. The event was held in an interactive format and provided valuable and practical information.

At the end of the meeting, the Center for Psychological Support reminded students of its services and emphasized that professional help is available at any time. The invited guests were thanked and presented with commemorative gifts. The parties also expressed their willingness to continue cooperation in the future.
