Nauryznama-2026: A robot show was held in ENU’s Lu Ban Workshop

As part of the Digital Nauryz project and the Nauryznama Decade, a robot show was held in the Lu Ban Workshop of The L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The event was attended by the university's management, students of ENU, S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University, Turan University and other universities of the capital, who got acquainted with the possibilities of modern technologies.
ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov delivered a welcoming speech. He congratulated the participants on the upcoming Nauryz holiday and stressed the importance of developing technological education.
"The Lu Ban Workshop is a vivid example of successful cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the field of education and technology. Here, students not only gain knowledge, but also develop practical skills by implementing innovative projects. On the eve of Nauryz, it is especially pleasant to share such achievements. I wish all participants success and prosperity!", - Rector said.
In her speech, Assel Omarbekova, Director of the ENU’s Digital Development Department, focused on the practical value of such events. According to her, the robot show helps strengthen the link between education and manufacturing, and helps students develop sought-after engineering skills.
"The main goal of today's robot show at the Lu Ban Workshop is to demonstrate modern technologies to students in practice and develop their engineering skills. We strive to increase the interest of young people in robotics and contribute to the formation of competitive specialists in the future," Assel Omarbekova said.
During the event, the participants saw the work of various types of robots: industrial, collaborative, production and AGV. The authors of the projects demonstrated their functionality and talked about their application in industry, education and everyday life. Each performance aroused great interest among the audience.
Aybar Bekzhanov, a first-year student of the S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University, shared his impressions:
"It was not just a show, but a real hands-on experience. We have seen how theoretical knowledge is translated into real technologies. I was particularly impressed with the accuracy and speed of the robots, as well as the performance of the Kazakh dance "Kamazhai". Such events motivate us to develop and create our own projects."
The results were summed up by Vice-Rector for Digitalization Gulmira Bekmanova. She noted that such initiatives contribute to the development of engineering thinking among young people and increase interest in technical specialties.
The event ended with an informal discussion and a bright finale – the robots performed the Kazakh dance "Kamazhai", causing thunderous applause.
According to the students, such practical demonstrations play an important role in professional development.: they not only deepen knowledge, but also increase interest in modern technologies.
The Lu Ban Workshop is a modern educational platform aimed at developing international cooperation, introducing advanced technologies and training highly qualified specialists. Solutions in the field of artificial intelligence are being actively applied here, as well as new career opportunities for Kazakhstani youth are being created.
