Lecture by Dr. of Historical Sciences, Professor, Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abil Erkin Amanzholuly on the topic "Current Issues in History"

On March 19, 2026, the Department of History of Kazakhstan of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University organized a lecture by Dr. of Historical Sciences, Professor, Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abil Erkin Amanzholule on the topic "Current Issues in History". The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of History, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor O.Zh. Bekmaganbetov, the Head of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor K.O. Seitkazina, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Z.O. Dukenbayeva, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor G.T. Musabalina, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor M.A. Alpysbes, the teaching staff of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, and students, master's students, and doctoral students of the History educational program. In his lecture, the scientist Yerkin Amanzholuly noted that in the context of globalization, the problems of historical consciousness, national identity, and historical memory are of particular importance. He emphasized that in this context, historical science faces new methodological, theoretical, and practical challenges.

Yerkin Amanzholuly is a historian and public figure who has made a significant contribution to the development of domestic historical science. He has worked for many years in higher education institutions and in the field of scientific and pedagogical research. In addition, he actively participates in social and political activities, as well as in the country's socio-cultural and historical policies, serving as a member of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
