Тhe dissertation defense of Barysgul Kenges  was held for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

On March 5, 2026, the dissertation defense of Barysgul Kenges  was held at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) under the educational program “8D02305 – Philology” on the topic “Terminology of information technologies of the Kazakh language.” The dissertation was completed in 2020–2023 at the Department of Kazakh Linguistics of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. 

The purpose of the study was to identify the specific features of the information technology terminological system in the Kazakh language and to conduct a linguistic analysis of its current state of usage. In addition, the study aimed to carry out a comparative analysis of the approved terms in relation to Turkic languages. 

The domestic academic supervisor was Sherubay Kurmanbayuly, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Philological Sciences, and Professor of the Department of Kazakh Linguistics at Eurasian National University. The foreign academic advisor was Nergis Biray, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Professor of the Department of Contemporary Turkic Languages and Literatures at Pamukkale University. 

Based on the voting results, a decision was made to award B.E. Kenes the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the relevant field of the personnel training area “8D023 – Languages and Literature” (“8D02305 – Philology,” “6D020500 – Philology,” “8D02314 – Literary Studies,” “6D021300 – Literary Studies”).
