
Ecology in Action: A Series of Events at the ENU Scientific Library







At the Scientific Library of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, a series of events was held within the framework of the «Taza Kazakhstan» Concept for the Development of Ecological Culture, aimed at enhancing ecological literacy and fostering environmental responsibility among students and staff.
All the events were aimed at fostering environmental awareness among readers, increasing responsibility for the environment, and widely promoting the ideas of caring for nature.
The library’s Information Resource Center “American Corner and Maker Space Astana” organized an interactive informational and educational exhibition titled “1 Minute – 1 Fact: Discover Nature Together!”, which was presented to readers via social media and library monitors. The video featured interesting facts, tips, warning signs, and information about environmental disasters, contributing to the improvement of environmental literacy among students and staff.
The Reader Services Department organized a book exhibition titled “Writers Who Care About Nature,” which featured works by poets and writers celebrating their homeland, the environment, and the beauty of nature. Special emphasis was placed on promoting environmental ideas through fiction.
Specialists from the Cataloging and Document Systematization Department conducted an educational quiz called “Eco Knowledge Hub” among library users. Participants answered various questions related to ecology, efficient use of natural resources, recycling, and environmental threats, demonstrating their knowledge. This event contributed to raising environmental awareness among young people.
The Information and Bibliographic Department presented a virtual book exhibition titled “Green Library” on the library’s website in the “Exhibitions” section. The exhibition featured various textbooks and publications on nature protection, energy saving, ecotourism, and recycling, accompanied by brief annotations.
