
Round table on "The National Liberation Movement of 1916: New Perspectives and Historical Memory"

On April 3, 2026, as part of the Decade of Science at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, the Department of History of Kazakhstan held a roundtable discussion on "The National Liberation Movement of 1916: New Perspectives and Historical Memory."

The roundtable was moderated by K.O. Seitkazina, Head of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, and E.T. Kartabayeva, Professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Historical Sciences The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of History, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor O.Zh. Bekmaganbetov, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Historical Sciences K.A. Yensenov, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan at the S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University, Candidate of Historical Sciences B.B. Yensepov, and the faculty of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, as well as doctoral students, master's students, and students of the History educational program.
During the roundtable discussion, the speakers discussed new views and positions on the 1916 national liberation movement, the causes, course, and consequences of the uprising, and other relevant issues
