Masterclass «Culture and Art»

On April 6, as part of the course “Ethnodesign,” students of the graphic design group, under the supervision of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences T.K. Samuratova, visited the workshop of the well-known ethnodesigner Bibigul Laubaikyzy Kardenova and took part in a masterclass titled “Culture and Art.”
The masterclass became a unique experience that allowed participants to deeply immerse themselves in the traditions of Kazakh culture. The expert shared not only her knowledge but also her personal experience, offering meaningful, inspiring, and truly valuable insights.
Ethnodesigner B.L. Kardenova elaborated on the educational and cultural significance of Kazakh handicrafts and explained the process of creating traditional jewelry. It was noted that the Kazakh people have long attached special importance to silver—not only for its beauty but also for its symbolic and protective meaning. Jewelry was perceived as a reflection of a person’s inner state.
At the end of the masterclass, B. Laubaikyzy presented the students with traditional Kazakh silver jewelry. This was not merely a gift, but a symbol of the transmission of traditions from one generation to another.
