
Educational Event Presentation Contest: "AI Lab: Students’ Ideas"









In the context of rapid digitalization of modern society and the active integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies into all spheres of life, the need to develop digital competencies among students is increasing. Today, AI is used in education, medicine, business, ecology, and other fields, making its study particularly relevant for future specialists. Possessing basic knowledge in AI allows students to remain competitive in the labor market and develop skills in data analysis, critical thinking, and complex problem-solving. This contest encourages students to engage in reflecting on the possibilities and prospects of AI application and fosters interest in innovative technologies.
The goal of the event was to develop students' skills in working with modern AI technologies, form creative and critical thinking, and improve public speaking skills.
The contest was attended by 1st-year students from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and the Faculty of Thermal Power Engineering, majoring in: "Plant Biotechnology and Microbiology", "Animal Biotechnology and Bioinformatics", and "Logistics".
During the contest, students delivered presentations in Kazakh, Russian, and English, dedicated to ideas for applying AI technologies in various areas of life.
Presentation topics included:
"AI Lab in Agrotechnology"
"Artificial Intelligence and Genetic Control: A New Model of Future Medicine"
"AI for Students: Two Tools That Will Change Your Student Journey"
"AI-Based Intelligent Systems for Environmentally Sustainable Waste and Energy Resource Management"
"The Use of AI in Education"
Each presentation was accompanied by visual aids and an oral defense.
The participants were evaluated by a jury consisting of representatives from the Department of Foreign Languages (Head of Department, PhD Balkhimbekova P.Z.; Assoc. Prof. Tusupova G.K.; Senior Lecturer Mukanova S.K.; Senior Lecturer Zhandeldinova A.M.).
Evaluation Criteria:
- Relevance of the idea
- Originality and creativity
- Structure and logic of the presentation
- Quality of visual design
- Public speaking skills
The winners were determined based on the contest results:
- 1st place — Сулейменова Ясмина, Кусаинова Милана
- 2nd place — Кенжебаева Шахзода, Токсанбаева Баян, Убайдулина Асемай
- 3rd place — Serikuly Shyngyskhan, Zhanserik Akbota
All participants were awarded prizes for their participation.
The event demonstrated a high level of student interest in studying AI technologies. Participants showed a creative approach and the ability to analyze and propose modern solutions to current problems.
The contest contributed to the development of communication skills, broadened students' horizons, and increased motivation to study digital technologies.
