Science Workers' Day: Department Veteran Kairat Kamalovich Kadyrzhanov Receives State Award of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On the eve of Science Workers' Day, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, on behalf of the Head of State, presented a prestigious state award to Kairat Kadyrzhanov, Senior Researcher at the Engineering Laboratory of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. He was honored with the title "Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Kazakhstan."
About the Distinguished Scientist
Kairat Kadyrzhanov is a Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, a Professor, and an Academician of the National Academy of Engineering of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He is a prominent scientist in the fields of nuclear physics and radiation materials science and is recognized as a key figure who stood at the origins of nuclear science in independent Kazakhstan.
Key Achievements and Contributions:
Leadership in the Field: For 20 years, K. Kadyrzhanov headed the Institute of Nuclear Physics and the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Environmental Impact: Under his leadership, vital projects were implemented to rehabilitate the territory of the former Semipalatinsk Test Site, leading to improved environmental conditions and enhanced radiation safety.
Scientific Infrastructure: He played an active role in establishing the Astana branch of the Institute of Nuclear Physics.
International Partnerships: Thanks to his efforts, a tripartite agreement was signed between the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, the Institute of Nuclear Physics, and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia).
Educational Excellence: He facilitated the creation of a unique dual-degree educational program in "Nuclear Physics" to train highly qualified specialists for the industry.
