Master Class “Methodology for Conducting Scientific Research in Sport”

On April 10, 2026, a master class titled “Methodology of Conducting Scientific Research in Sport” was held as part of the Science Decade and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the University.
The event was organized by the Higher School of Education and the Department of Physical Culture and Sport.
The master class was conducted by Zhanar A. Usina for second-year students of the “Physical Education and Sport” and “Sport Coaching” programs, including international students.
The session took place in Rooms 313 and 106, with a total of 45 students participating.
The aim of the master class was to develop students’ practical skills in organizing and conducting scientific research in the field of physical culture and sport.
During the session, the main stages of scientific research were presented, including topic selection, defining relevance, formulating goals, objectives and hypotheses, and choosing research methods.
Particular attention was paid to practical work: students were divided into groups and developed their own mini-research projects, formulating goals, hypotheses, and selecting appropriate methods.
As part of the practical session, participants conducted a mini-experiment by measuring heart rate before and after physical activity, demonstrating the process of data collection and analysis.
During the discussion, students analyzed the obtained results, identified possible errors, and discussed the importance of a scientific approach in sports.
At the end of the master class, participants noted its practical orientation, clarity of presentation, and the relevance of the acquired knowledge for their future professional activities.
