
Faculty of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Discussed National Values at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Occasion of Science Day

On April 10, 2026, a round table titled “Interaction between Museums and Science in the Study of National Values” was held at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to Science Day in Kazakhstan. As part of the event, a presentation of the scientific catalogue “Ancient and Early Medieval Weapons from the Collection of the National Museum” took place. The round table was attended by scholars from L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University: Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan K.A. Yensenov; Candidate of Historical Sciences, Deputy Dean for Research of the Faculty of History N.A. Mukhametzhanova; Senior Lecturer of the Department of Archaeology and Ethnology T.V. Koshman.

The presentation by Senior Lecturer of the Department of Archaeology and Ethnology Tatyana Vasilievna Koshman was dedicated to L.F. Semenov, the founder of the first museum in the city of Akmolinsk. April 14 marks the 125th anniversary of the birth of L.F. Semenov, a pioneer of museum studies, a local historian, and the author of numerous publications on the history, archaeology, and ethnology of the Akmola and Karaganda regions. T.V. Koshman emphasized the importance of developing the local history (kraevedenie) movement for the preservation of local history and historical monuments.
