
As part of the “One Country – One Book – 2026” campaign, the novel “Tagdyr” was discussed

















Today, at the Scientific Library, a discussion dedicated to the republican campaign “One Country – One Book” was held within the framework of the “Book – the Source of Knowledge” week. The event was devoted to the novel “Tagdyr” by the People’s Writer of Kazakhstan, Kabdesh Zhumadilov, selected for nationwide reading in 2026.
The event was moderated by Senior Lecturer of the Department of Journalism and Media Arts, PhD Sayagul Kabylbekovna Alimbekova, who spoke about the significance and main objectives of the campaign and introduced the opinions of representatives of the intelligentsia about the novel “Tagdyr”.
The first speech was given to the writer’s son, a well-known Kazakhstani historian, Associate Professor of Historical Sciences Arman Kabdeshevich Zhumadil. Joining online via the ZOOM platform, the scholar shared insightful thoughts on the history of the novel’s creation and his father’s creative legacy. In his speech, he highlighted the truthful depiction of complex periods in the history of the Kazakh people and encouraged young people to read books and appreciate national literary values.
During the event, the Deputy Director of the Scientific Library for Library Affairs, Zhanar Bekaidarovna, delivered a speech, elaborating on the significance of Kabdesh Zhumadilov’s work as well as the historical, educational, and artistic features of the novel “Tagdyr”.
Students of the “Publishing-11” group of the Higher School of Journalism and Social Sciences presented an informational overview of the “One Country – One Book” campaign, introducing participants to the writer’s life and creative path. In addition, within the framework of a discussion organized as part of the course “Fundamentals of Book Studies,” students analyzed the novel by sections and shared their opinions and conclusions.
During the event, participants exchanged views on the characters and historical events depicted in the work and asked their questions to Arman Zhumadil.
The event was organized at a high level and left a special spiritual impression on the participants.
