
The results of the international conference “ǴYLYM JÁNE BІLІM – 2026” were summarized at ENU









On April 13, 2026, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University hosted the 20th International Scientific Conference “ǴYLYM JÁNE BІLІM – 2026,” dedicated to students, master’s, and PhD students.
On April 13, 2026, within the framework of the ХХ International Scientific Conference “ǴYLYM JÁNE BІLІM – 2025,” Section 6.5 “Problems of Translation and Intercultural Communication” was organized by the Department of Translation Theory and Practice.
Section 6.5 “Problems of Translation and Intercultural Communication” was opened by the Head of the Department of Translation Theory and Practice named after L.N. Gumilyov, PhD D.Akizhanova, who wished the participants success. The event was also attended by PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Translation Theory and Practice M.Eskindirva, who delivered a welcoming speech to students, master’s students, and doctoral students participating in the conference. Support and good wishes to the participants were expressed by doctoral student of the Department of Translation Theory and Practice Zh.Burkitbayeva, noting the importance of scientific research conducted by young scholars in the field of translation and intercultural communication.
The chair of the commission for the direction “Problems of Translation and Intercultural Communication” was PhD D.Akizhanova. Members of the commission included Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor G.Kuldeyeva, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor Zh.Konyratbayeva, Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor M.Eskindirva. The secretary of the commission was doctoral student Zh.Burkitbayeva.
A total of 23 research applications from young scientists were submitted for consideration by the commission. The conference was attended by master’s and doctoral students of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, the Eurasian Humanities Institute named after A.K. Kussainov (Astana), Pavlodar Pedagogical University named after Alkey Margulan (Pavlodar), and Shakarim University (Semey). The working languages of the section were Kazakh, Russian, and English.
During the section’s work, young researchers expressed their opinions and discussed current issues in the field of translation. The section “Problems of Translation and Intercultural Communication” was held in a highly active and engaging format. As a result, winners and prize-winners among the young researchers were determined, and participants who did not receive places were awarded certificates of appreciation.

Egizbayeva Arailym, Yryskhan Shyryn, Kuandyq Nazereke. Topic: Қазақ халық ертегісін ағылшын тілінде жеткізу оңай ма? (көксерек ертегісі негізінде).
2nd place:
Zadorozhnaya Lyudmila. Topic: Автоматизированный и машинный перевод: особенности применения терминов в научной литературе.
Rizabekova Ainur. Topic: Ағылшын және қазақ тілдері арасындағы аудармадағы лингвомәдени сәйкессіздіктер және мәдениетаралық коммуникация мәселелері.
3rd place:
Ukimetkhan Akbota. Topic: Нәзипа Құлжанованың «күн тұтылғанда» әдеби аудармасының көркемдік-мәдени сипаты.
Shaken Merey. Topic: Translation of vernacular toponyms: linguocultural and cognitive challenges in Kazakh and English.
Fischuk Anzhelika. Topic: Прагматический эффект в локализации интерактивной видеоигры (на материале игры “the quarry”).
In addition to the prize winners, participants of the conference were awarded certificates of appreciation:

Kenzhayeva Maftuna. Topic: Translating culture-bound and ineffable concepts across languages: untranslatable emotions in Kazakh, Tajik, Uzbek, Turkish, Russian, and Azerbaijani.
Kabden Karakoz. Topic: Сравнительный анализ грамматических категорий английского и казахского языков.
Sapanova Anar. Topic: Особенности перевода начальной и финальной формул народных сказок.
