
«ENU: NEW STRATEGY: ENU defines development priorities













The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University hosted the strategic session-convention “ENU: NEW STRATEGY,” aimed at shaping approaches to the development of the University’s new Development Strategy.
The session brought together representatives of key stakeholder groups, including the University’s leadership, academic and research staff, employers, alumni, representatives of government bodies, as well as Master’s and PhD students.
Among the participants were Adilkhan Kirshimbekov, Chair of the Committee on Strategic Planning, Human Resources and Remuneration; Alibek Madibekov, Director of the Center for Higher Education Development; Silvana Stefani, Professor at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Italy); as well as Aigerim Kulzha, a representative of employers from KazAeroSpase LLP.
The session was moderated by Duman Ramazanovich Aitmagambetov, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization.
In his welcoming remarks, Rector Yerlan Batashyevich Sydykov outlined the key priorities for ENU’s development, the University’s transformation agenda, and objectives aimed at enhancing its international competitiveness.
As part of the session, THE consultant Emmy Rose presented a preliminary analysis and highlighted the key factors influencing the University’s position in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
The substantive part of the convention was structured around the University’s key development areas: research and commercialization, academic quality and lifelong learning, international cooperation and internationalization, digital transformation, campus infrastructure and student environment, as well as governance, human capital, and financial sustainability.
Within these thematic areas, participants presented analytical materials on the implementation of ENU’s Development Strategy for 2021–2026, identified key challenges and growth points, and proposed preliminary initiatives for the new Strategy.
All proposals and expert insights were recorded on the “Strategic Hub” digital platform for further analysis.
The strategic session-convention marked the beginning of the process of developing ENU’s new Development Strategy, enabling the collection of proposals and expert input from key stakeholders.
The event was organized and coordinated by the Department of Strategic Development as part of the ongoing work on the University’s new Strategy.
