On April 8, as part of the Science Decade, a master class for students titled “Modern Methods of Modeling in Mechanics: ANSYS Fluent” was organized.
The organizer of the master class was D.E. Kurmanova, Senior Lecturer, Ph.D.
During the event, participants were introduced to modern numerical modeling methods used in solving engineering problems. Special attention was given to the practical application of software tools for studying the motion of liquids and gases.
The main part of the master class was devoted to ANSYS Fluent. It is a powerful computational tool that enables the simulation of fluid dynamics and heat transfer processes. With ANSYS Fluent, it is possible to accurately model flow motion, turbulence, heat transfer, and multiphase media.
During the event, students:
- learned how to create computer models of engineering problems;
- studied the basics of mesh generation;
- learned how to define initial and boundary conditions;
- gained skills in analyzing and visualizing results.
The master class helped students combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience, facilitated the освоение современных инженерных программ, and increased their interest in research activities. It also contributed to the development of participants’ professional competencies.
