
Work is being carried out to protect young people from the threats of religious extremism and terrorism





On April 17, 2026, at the initiative and with the organization of A.Kozhayeva, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Practical Kazakh Language of L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, an educational session was held for first-year students majoring in International Relations and Oriental Studies on the topic: «Threats from the Internet: Religious Extremism and Terrorism».
The main objective of the event was to raise students’ awareness of dangerous information on the internet, explain the harmful impact of religious extremism and terrorism, as well as protect young people from the influence of destructive movements and develop their critical thinking skills.
During the session, an open-format discussion was held. First, students exchanged views on the advantages and disadvantages of the internet. They openly shared their opinions and highlighted its importance in everyday life, while also addressing its negative aspects.
Various perspectives were discussed, and the session was conducted in a question-and-answer format, which increased student engagement and allowed for a deeper understanding of the issue.
In conclusion, the event was highly significant. Given the active use of the internet by modern youth, ensuring their information security remains one of the key priorities.
