From Theory to Practice

On April 24, 2026, students of the “Geography” educational program of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, under the guidance of Senior Lecturer Seitkan A.S., visited the “SG-Brick” brick factory of the construction company “SG Holding” as part of the course “Technical and Economic Bases of Production.”
The “SG-Brick” plant is one of the largest brick manufacturers in Central Asia, with an annual production capacity of 120 million bricks.
The main purpose of the excursion was to connect students’ theoretical knowledge with practical experience, as well as to familiarize them with the technological and economic aspects of building materials production.
During the excursion, students:
* observed the full technological process of brick production (raw material preparation, molding, firing);
* explored modern production equipment;
* understood the dependence of industrial location on geographical factors and raw material sources;
* learned about the operating principles of the enterprise and its role in the market.
Such excursions are highly important for geography students, as they provide practical insight into the territorial organization of production, efficient use of resources, and real-world applications of economic and industrial geography. This contributes to broadening professional perspectives and shaping future specialists.
