
"Eastern Spring" and "International Day": cultures of the world meet at ENU

On the eve of the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan on May 1, The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University hosted the Eastern Spring Festival and the International Day celebration event organized by the Department of International Cooperation and the Faculty of International Relations.
The event, which brought together different cultures, was attended by representatives of the Embassies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State of Palestine, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as representatives of Kyrgyz, Tajik and Uzbek ethnocultural associations of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
The guests of the event, which took place in the amphitheater, were able to enjoy the musical compositions of the peoples of the East and songs in various languages. An exhibition of national applied arts of the Turkic-speaking and Iranian-speaking peoples was also presented.
It is worth noting that the special exhibition, which introduces the culture of the countries of the East, aroused great interest among visitors. On this day, the guests of the ENU seemed to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the eastern world. The melodies of the East, as well as teachers and students in national costumes created a special holiday mood.
The solemn event was opened by Rector Yerlan Sydykov, whose informative and inspiring speech gave a special mood to the audience.
"Today we gathered at a special event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, a university with a rich history, deep traditions and a promising future. This is not just a holiday - it is a celebration of knowledge and science, culture and spirituality, friendship and unity. Today, about three thousand international students from 28 countries study at our university. The university is not only an educational institution, but also a large, friendly house that unites many peoples and cultures," Rector said.
The guests of the event, having got acquainted with the culture and traditions of the countries of the East, witnessed a specially prepared concert program. The concert began with a performance by Kyu Sugura and the piece "Kara Zhorga" performed by the Dala Sazy orchestra. During the program, young people performed songs and dances in Chinese and Arabic, captivating the audience with their skills, and representatives of ethnic and cultural associations, as honored guests of the Eastern Spring Festival, shared their impressions and noted the educational and educational significance of the event for students.
They also highlighted the contribution of prominent thinkers from Central Asian countries to the development of science and education in the Arab-Muslim world, noting such historical figures as Al-Farabi, Sultan az-Zahir Beibarys, Kaitbai and Muhammad Kalyoun.
During the event, a group of students were awarded for their active participation in organizing events for international students, a high level of responsibility and contribution to the social life of the university. The awards were presented by Vice Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization Duman Aitmagambetov and ENU Ombudsman Nelya Shapekova.
The event was also attended by ENU vice-rectors, deans of faculties, directors of institutes and schools, who during the meeting discussed with representatives of embassies and ethno-cultural associations issues of cooperation in the field of education, science and promising joint projects.
