
XIII INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: "LIBRARIES IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE AND THE NATIONAL AI-SANA PROGRAM"



















From April 22 to 25, 2026, the city of Taraz hosted the XIII International Conference "Modern Trends in the Development of Academic Libraries" at the M.H. Dulaty Taraz Regional University.
This prestigious forum, an annual initiative of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU), was hosted this year at Dulaty University. The event received official support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat (Administration) of the Zhambyl Region, and the Association of University Libraries of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The central theme of this year's summit was: "Libraries in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: International Experience and the National AI-SANA Program." Experts from ENU, international scholars, and IT scientists analyzed global best practices for implementing Artificial Intelligence within academic environments and discussed strategic mechanisms for the realization of the national "AI-SANA" program.
Conference Highlights:
Professional Development: The program featured the "IRBIS School" and innovative workshops specifically designed to enhance the digital competencies of Kazakhstani librarians.
Cultural Integration: The conference coincided with National Book Day and the International Artisans' Festival in Taraz, creating a unique interdisciplinary platform where science met heritage.
Special Presentation: Renowned economist Berlin Irishev presented his book, "QAZAQ FASHION," dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the world-famous model and muse of Christian Dior, Alla Ilchun.
Throughout the forum, an exhibition of digital solutions and information products showcased cutting-edge technologies from both domestic and international IT companies. The conference concluded with the adoption of strategic recommendations aimed at the modernization of academic libraries and the strengthening of global professional networks.
