Defender of the Fatherland Day Celebrated at ENU

In honor of May 7, Defender of the Fatherland Day, a meaningful and solemn event in a special format was held at The L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The festive event was attended by the university's leadership, faculty, staff, industry experts and veterans, witnessing a spiritually intense celebration.

The hosts of the gala event were students of the Graduate School of Journalism and Social Sciences, masters of artistic expression Ayim Abdirashit and Markhabat Kulakhmetova.

The students also focused on the history of the university, emphasizing that this year marks the university’s 30th anniversary. This milestone is not just an indicator of time, but a vivid reflection of the formation of education and science, the desire for knowledge and great achievements formed in the capital of the country. The significance of the holiday was conveyed through musical and dance performances, which gave the audience special emotions.

The first to take the stage was a 1st-year student of the Faculty of Philology, a member of the Poets Club “Topzhargan” Aiganym Balgabayeva. In her dedication, she praised the 30-year history of ENU and the high status of male defenders. Then the dancers of the Samuryk dance school presented a vivid choreographic production that combined the national spirit and freedom, and earned warm applause from the audience.

As part of the festive program, Saltanat Bekmaganbetova, an Honored cultural worker, a performer of the Astana Opera Theater, sang two songs. Her beautiful voice created a special atmosphere in the hall and became the decoration of the evening. Talented university students also presented their creative performances.

In the next part of the program, the audience took part in the Familiar Image game, where they could test their attentiveness and ingenuity. The interactive format, organized by the Director of ENU’s Social and Civic Development Department, Zhambyl Tlep, aroused great interest among the public.

At the end of the event, the creative team of the university "E-Studio", with outstanding vocal skills, took the stage. The performers shared patriotic and modern pop compositions, giving the audience a festive mood: almost everyone present went to the center of the hall and danced with pleasure. The one-hour festive program was dedicated to men.
