
Sustainable Development and Digitalization of Tourism Became the Main Topics of the Conference at ENU

The International Scientific and Practical Conference "Academic Achievements and Sustainable Future of Tourism in Eurasia" was held at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the university.
The event brought together scholars, teachers, doctoral students, undergraduates and representatives of the tourism industry from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Spain, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and the Russian Federation.
Alma Zakirova, Director of the Department of Science at L.N. Gumilyov ENU, greeted the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of integrating science, education and industry in the context of digital transformation and sustainable development.
The plenary session was attended by leading foreign experts, including: Professor of the University of Granada (Spain) Enrique Federico Quero Gervilla, Professor of Anadolu University (Turkey) Semra Günay, PhD, Associate Professor of the University of Punjab (Pakistan) Rab Nawaz Lodhi, representatives of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) - Kolotova Elizaveta and Akhmedova Rimma, as well as Karlibayeva Raya - Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor at Tashkent State University of Economics, and Stepanova Diana - Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.
The breakout session of the conference was also attended by representatives of the Southern Federal University (Russia) - Roman Sukhov and Ksenia Kushnir, who presented the practices of sustainable tourism and interdisciplinary approaches to the development of tourism products.
The conference addressed key areas of industry development, including the digital transformation of tourism, best practices in sustainable development, the role of science, education and human resources.
Particular attention was paid to the introduction of innovative technologies, the development of dual education and the use of interdisciplinary approaches in tourism activities.
Following the conference, a resolution was adopted, in which the participants stressed the need for the active introduction of digital solutions, the expansion of international cooperation and the improvement of educational programs, taking into account modern challenges.
The conference confirmed the high level of international scientific cooperation and the significant role of ENU as a center for tourism development in the Eurasian space.
