On May 8, 2026, a meeting was held with representatives of the CAD.kz organization on the topic: “Full cycle of reverse engineering.”

On May 8, 2026, the L.N. Gumilyov ENU hosted a meeting of students with representatives of CAD.kz , dedicated to modern technologies of reverse engineering and digital modeling. During the event, the participants were presented with a full cycle of engineering model creation, from 3D scanning of a physical object to the preparation of a parametric CAD model for further design and production. Special attention was paid to the work at Artec Studio and Geomagic Design X. The students learned how 3D scanning data is processed, geometry is cleaned and combined, and the resulting scans are transformed into full-fledged engineering models with the ability to edit, analyze, and release design documentation.
During the meeting, the experts demonstrated practical examples of the use of reverse engineering technologies in industry, mechanical engineering and engineering design. The participants were able to ask questions to experts and get acquainted with modern digital production tools.
The students were particularly interested in demonstrating practical examples of software product analysis and discussing the prospects for professional development in this field. The meeting was held in the format of an open dialogue, where students received recommendations from industry experts and discussed current areas of engineering technology development.
The event was held as part of the development of practice-oriented learning and strengthening cooperation between the university and industrial partners. The Department of System Analysis and Management expresses its gratitude to the CAD representatives.kz for cooperation and contribution to the development of practice-oriented student learning.
