Media Ecology as a Foundation of National Security

First-year doctoral students of the Higher School of Journalism and Social Sciences at L.N. Gumilyov ENU have successfully completed their courses and passed the exam in "Media Immunity and Media Ecology." This unique discipline was initiated and introduced into the curriculum by Professor Onaigul Turzhan.
The course focuses on the interaction between "digital natives" (the Alpha-Zet generation) and "digital emigrants," aiming to build a solid scientific foundation for national immunity against information warfare.
"This is a methodology for raising a generation that can navigate cunning information streams without falling into traps. It is a basic, scientific, and practical approach to making patriotism and human values as solid as stone," stated Professor O. Turzhan.
According to the scholar, media ecology is not just a journalism issue, but a cornerstone of the state's internal security. During the examination, Ph.D. students defended their research on countering manipulation in the information space and preserving the national cultural code in the era of rapid digitalization.
We wish our future scientists the best of luck on their academic journey!
