DIALOGUE OF CULTURES: YASAWI'S LEGACY IN THE MODERN TURKIC WORLD

An international roundtable titled "The Turkic World and Yasawi's Legacy: Cultural Harmony at the Crossroads of Civilizations" was held in Turkistan. The event was organized on the eve of the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and was dedicated to the scientific comprehension of Turkistan's historical and cultural role, the research and popularization of the spiritual legacy of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, as well as the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian cooperation among the countries of the Turkic world.
About 30 representatives of the scientific and expert community, as well as international organizations, took part in the roundtable. The participants included renowned scholars, Turkologists, Orientalists, historians, philologists, theologians, archaeologists, restorers, and museum specialists from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
At the roundtable, the Director of the "Medieval Source Studies" Center at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Satay Maksutovich Syzdykov, presented a scientific report: "THE ROLE OF THE TEACHINGS OF ARYSTAN BAB AND A. YASAWI IN SPIRITUAL CULTURE: FOLKLORE AND HISTORICAL SOURCES." The historian examined this issue in a historical context, as various legendary and mythological sayings and notions about the figure of Arystan Bab are often found among the people. The scholar also presented comprehensive sources regarding Arystan Bab as a historical figure. Foreign and domestic scholars studying Yasawi's legacy warmly received this conclusion and agreed on the necessity of interdisciplinary interaction in studying historical figures, especially through close contact with historians researching the era in which the specific figure lived.
Based on the outcomes of the event, recommendations were prepared aimed at expanding international scientific interaction, strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and promoting Yasawi's legacy.
