Student Authors’ Books Presented at the Department of Journalism and Media Arts

A presentation of first-year students’ authored books was held at the Department of Journalism and Media Arts of the Higher School of Journalism and Social Sciences at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
Students of the “Publishing” educational program, within the framework of the course “Fundamentals of Book Studies,” not only gained theoretical and practical knowledge but also developed their creative abilities.
The students were guided and inspired in creative writing and book publishing by journalist, PhD, Senior Lecturer Sayagul Kabylbekkyzy Alimbekova, the course instructor, as well as practitioner-lecturer Beibitgul Mametkazykyzy Tokabayeva, who conducted the practical classes.
The books cover a variety of genres, including fantasy stories, poems, fairy tales, comics, and family chronicles. Among the titles are Kabanbay Batyr, Aiman Who Flew to the Moon, The Road to a Dream, The Girl in the Moon’s Shadow, and others.
We wish the students, who introduced their first literary works, continued success and hope they become distinguished writers in the future.
Winners of academic competitions were also invited to the event dedicated to students’ creativity, where they were awarded diplomas.
Future publishers specializing in the publishing industry and book studies are already gaining comprehensive professional experience in the field today.
Special guests at the book presentation included Amangeldi Meyramuly Shurentayev, Head of the Department of Journalism and Media Arts, as well as faculty members Almagul Kogabaykyzy Umbetova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, and PhD Gulzabira Abikenovna Shauenova. They shared their opinions and expressed gratitude and best wishes to the students.
