Delegation of Nanning Normal University Visits the Institute of Natural Sciences of ENU

On May 22, 2026, as part of the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, an official visit of the delegation of Nanning Normal University (Nanning, PRC) took place. The meeting focused on the development of scientific cooperation and the discussion of joint research projects in the field of natural sciences.

The Chinese delegation was headed by Zhang Songtao – Vice-President and member of the Standing Committee of the Party of Nanning Normal University. The delegation also included Wang Derong – Dean of the Institute of Logistics, Management and Engineering, Lu Ruzheng – Dean of the Institute of Natural Resources and Geodesy, and He Lingling – Dean of the Institute of Economics and Management.

The Institute of Natural Sciences of ENU was represented by Director of the Institute Berdenov Zharas Galimzhanovich, Head of the Department of Chemistry Kopishev Eldar Yertayevich, Head of the Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology Masalimov Zhaksylyk Kairbekovich, and Head of the Department of General Biology and Genomics Ilderbayev Oralbek Zainuldanovich.

During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of scientific partnership. Particular attention was paid to joint research in the chemistry of natural macromolecular compounds, biotechnology, ecological evolution, and the rational use of natural resources. These areas align with the scientific profile of the key laboratories of the Ministry of Education of the PRC operating at Nanning Normal University.

The disciplines of «Chemistry» and «Social Sciences» of Nanning Normal University are ranked in the top 1% of the global ESI ranking, which provides a solid basis for productive cooperation with the scientific schools of ENU. The participants reviewed the preparation of joint research projects, the organization of academic mobility for teachers and students, as well as joint publications and scientific events.

The visit became a significant step in the development of long-term partnership between ENU and Nanning Normal University and confirmed the mutual interest of the parties in strengthening scientific ties between Kazakhstan and China.
