
ENU now has a media laboratory dedicated to the history of journalism

In honor of the 30th anniversary of the University, the Graduate School of Journalism and Social Sciences of The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University has launched a media laboratory named after the famous researcher of the history of the press, Doctor of Philology, Professor Kyrykbai Aldabergenov.
The new media laboratory is a modern scientific and creative platform for future journalists and researchers. Here students will be able to study the history of Kazakh journalism, work with archival materials and implement scientific projects in the field of media. In addition, the laboratory is aimed at developing the practical skills of young journalists.
The opening ceremony was attended by the university's leadership, intellectuals, scientists, teachers and students. The red ribbon of the media laboratory was cut by ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov, director of the Graduate School of Journalism and Social Sciences Nurzhan Kuantai and professor-scientist Namazaly Omashuly.
During the event, Professor Kyrykbai Aldabergenov’s contribution to the study of the history of the Kazakh press was highlighted. It was emphasized that the scientist's scientific heritage and his contribution to the study of the history of national journalism serve as an example for the younger generation.
The opening of the media laboratory has become one of the university's important initiatives aimed at integrating science and education. This project will give a new impetus to the in-depth study of the history of Kazakh journalism, the development of the national media sphere and the support of young researchers.
Director of the Graduate School of Journalism and Social Sciences Nurzhan Kuantai, speaking at the opening of the media laboratory, noted the importance of this initiative for young journalists:
"Kyrykbai Aldabergenov is a personality who has made a huge contribution to the development of national journalistic science and has deeply researched the history of the Kazakh press. The media laboratory that opens today will become not only a platform for popularizing the scientist's legacy, but also an important center that opens the way for scientific research and creative searches of future journalists. We are confident that this space will become a modern platform for the development of creative and professional abilities of students," Director said.
A scientist from Almaty, Ayazbi Beisenkulov, also emphasized the special place of Professor Kyrykbai Aldabergenov in the science of Kazakh journalism.
"Kyrykbai Aldabergenov is one of the few scientists who systematically studied the history of the national press. His works are a valuable scientific legacy for understanding the formation and development of Kazakh journalism. I believe that the media laboratory that has opened today will become an important center that will guide young researchers and combine science with practice. Such good initiatives give a powerful impetus to the development of national journalism science," Professor said.
