Students of the 6B05209 – Geography Educational Program Learned About the Work of Kazhydromet

On May 26, 2026, third-year students of the 6B05209 – Geography educational program of the Department of Physical and Economic Geography at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University visited the Republican State Enterprise “Kazhydromet” as part of their practical training under the supervision of practice supervisor Gulnara Shaimerdenovna Ospanova.

During the visit, the students learned about the main activities of Kazakhstan’s national hydrometeorological service. Specialists provided information on weather observation, climate change analysis, hydrometeorological monitoring, and environmental assessment.

The students observed specialized equipment, automated monitoring systems, and modern technologies used for collecting and processing meteorological data. The importance of hydrometeorological information for public safety, natural hazard forecasting, and environmental protection was also explained.

The practical training helped students connect theoretical knowledge in climatology, meteorology, environmental monitoring, and natural hazard geography with real professional practice. At the end of the visit, participants asked questions and received useful information related to their future professional activities.
