The presentation of the book “Zuliya”

A presentation of the new work by fourth-year Media Arts student Assem Zhanatova, the documentary novella Zuliya, was held at our university.
The event brought together faculty members, students, representatives of the intellectual community, and the author’s family and friends. During the meeting, the author spoke about the story behind the book, its concept, and the real-life events that inspired its creation.
The book Zuliya is based on the life story of the author’s grandmother, Zuliya. Through a literary narrative, the work portrays the fate of a Kazakh woman, her resilience in overcoming life’s challenges, her role in family life and child-rearing, as well as her patience and strength of character. The story presents an inspiring journey of a woman who endured numerous hardships and ultimately achieved happiness and fulfillment.
One of the book’s most distinctive features is its ability to reflect the spirit of an entire era through the biography of a single individual. It highlights the character of Kazakh women, the importance of national values, and the significance of the family institution. As a result, the work is not only a memoir but also a valuable cultural and spiritual legacy that can inspire future generations.
During the presentation, participants shared their impressions of the book and wished the author continued creative success. The publication of the young writer’s first book was highly appreciated by the department’s faculty, who expressed their support for her future creative endeavors.
At the end of the event, guests took commemorative photographs with the author and received signed copies of the book.
Zuliya is a meaningful and inspiring work that celebrates the strength and resilience of Kazakh women through the story of one family. The book marks an important milestone in the author’s creative journey and represents a valuable contribution to the preservation and promotion of national values.
