
A summer school has started at ENU as part of the days of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Kazakhstan

The L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University has launched a traditional summer school within the framework of the days of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Kazakhstan, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the University and the 20th anniversary of the Astana branch of the Institute of Nuclear Physics.
From June 1-3, participants will get acquainted with the JINR scientific program, the activities of its laboratories, as well as the prospects for internships and internships, preparation of final qualifying papers and further cooperation with a leading international scientific center.
The summer school will include lectures, practical exercises, scientific seminars and trainings by leading JINR staff. The program covers academic research, innovative technologies, international cooperation and modern areas of education development.
The main goal of the summer school is to develop the scientific potential of the participants, strengthen interdisciplinary ties and widely disseminate international experience. In addition, this platform will allow young researchers to exchange opinions with leading scientists and present their own projects.
"Today, science and education require constant development. Therefore, it is important that participants not only gain new knowledge, but also establish scientific contacts and improve their professional competencies. I am sure that the summer school program will allow participants to get acquainted with current trends," Yerik Nurmoldin, Director of the Institute of Physical and Technical Sciences of the ENU, said at the opening.
Dmitry Shlimas, a senior researcher of the Laboratory of Solid State Physics of the Astana branch of the Institute of Nuclear Physics, Dr. Aliya Nurmakhanbetova, PhD, an employee of the Nazarbayev University School of Engineering and Digital Sciences, and Askhat Zhumabayev, Director of Martuk Brothers LLP, also delivered welcoming speeches.
Bakdaulet Mukhameduly, Deputy Director of the Neutron Physics Laboratory, made a presentation on the topic "Research Infrastructure of the Neutron Physics Laboratory", and Sergey Kichanov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the group at the I.M. Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russian Federation), gave a lecture on "The Main Activities of the Neutron Laboratory".
It should be noted that currently 80 Kazakhstanis work at JINR, of which 30 ENU graduates work in five laboratories. This is a clear confirmation of the high level of training of university graduates and the importance of ENU's cooperation with JINR.
