
The third stream of training for social workers has been completed at the ENU

From May 22 to May 29, 2026, the third stream of a large-scale program of advanced training and retraining courses for social workers in the social protection system was successfully completed at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The program was implemented by the Institute of Continuing Education commissioned by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
85 social professionals from various regions of Kazakhstan took part in the training. The program was aimed at improving the professional competencies of social workers, introducing modern approaches and mastering effective technologies for social work with various categories of the population. The training was conducted according to the updated retraining and advanced training programs developed by the Department of Sociology, taking into account modern requirements for the professional activities of social sphere specialists. Teachers of the Department of Sociology participated in the implementation of the programs: Kuralay Mukhambetova, Ayazhan Kuatova, Juldyz Sembina, Dinara Dosmurzayeva and Gulazia Isakhova.
During the training, students mastered algorithms for developing an individual client development plan, conducting professional interviews, organizing interdepartmental interaction in the interests of recipients of social services, and exchanged professional experience with colleagues from different regions of the country.
As a result of the training, the participants expanded their knowledge of modern approaches to the organization of social assistance, strengthened their professional communication and customer support skills, and also received practical tools to apply in their daily work.
The implementation of the third stream confirms the high level of demand for the program and its importance for the development of the human resources potential of the social protection system. Large-scale work to improve the skills of social workers throughout the country will continue, contributing to the introduction of modern standards of social work and improving the quality of social services for the population of Kazakhstan.
