
ENU Faculty Members Explore Modern Approaches to Educational Program Design

The professional development course for the academic staff of the University on the topic “Growth Mindset Unlocking Educators’ Potential: Redesigning First-Year Educational Programs, Renewing the General Education Core, and Developing a Unique Development Model for L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University” is ongoing.
On June 4, 2026, as part of the course, Assel Aryn, Vice-Rector for Academic Development at Almaty Management University (AlmaU), delivered a transformational workshop on current trends and best practices in education.
During the event, Ardak Beisenbay, Member of the Management Board and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of the course for enhancing the quality of education at the University.
The course activities continued for four hours, during which participants exchanged experiences and ideas within the framework of the following modules:
As part of the module “Analysis of Local and International Experience,” participants explored the topic “Designing a Values-Based Educational Architecture through the Liberal Arts Model.” The workshop focused on the key principles of developing a values-oriented education system and examined international best practices in this area.
In addition, within the module “Modular Design of Educational Programs,” participants discussed and presented projects aimed at integrating the principles of the “Tolyk Adam” program and the holistic approach into higher education curricula, as well as improving the structure and practice-oriented focus of educational programs.
Participants also became familiar with educational models designed to support the comprehensive development of students and explored opportunities for integrating these approaches into academic programs.
The course will continue to address current issues related to the improvement of educational programs and the development of professional competencies of academic staff.
