
Students of the 6B05209 – Geography Educational Program Visited the ModeX Innovation Plant

On June 5, 2026, third-year students of the 6B05209 – Geography educational program of the Department of Physical and Economic Geography at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University visited the ModeX innovation plant of BI Group in Astana as part of their practical training.
Before the excursion, the company’s specialists conducted a safety briefing and provided the participants with the necessary personal protective equipment. The students were then introduced to the history of the plant, its main activities, and the principles of modular construction technology.
During the visit, the students explored the key stages of the production process and the main operational units of the enterprise. They visited the reinforcement workshop, concrete mixing workshop, molding workshop, and finishing and assembly workshop, where they learned about the manufacturing process of modular structures and the organization of industrial production.
Company representatives explained the operation of the automated transport system, modern equipment, and advanced technologies used at the plant. Particular attention was given to the advantages of modular construction, productivity improvement, and innovative solutions implemented in the construction industry.
The visit expanded the students’ understanding of industrial geography, factors influencing the location of manufacturing facilities, and current trends in the development of Kazakhstan’s construction industry.
