Associate Professor of the Department of Physical and Economic Geography Participated in the III Republican Training Camp for Young Geologists

On June 11, 2026, the III Republican Training Camp for Young Geologists started at Nazarbayev Intellectual School Astana-Nura. More than 60 students from Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools and the Zerde School-Gymnasium in Astana, Shymkent, Karaganda, Taraz, Taldykorgan, and Kostanay are participating in the educational program.

The main objective of the training camp is to deepen students’ knowledge of geology and prepare them for international Olympiads.

As part of the program, Mariyash Ashimbekovna Aralbekova, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical and Economic Geography at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, delivered lectures and conducted practical sessions for the participants. The classes covered key areas of geological science, field research methods, mineral resources studies, and Olympiad preparation.

The participation of the department’s faculty members in such events contributes to strengthening cooperation with schools across Kazakhstan and supporting students’ interest in Earth sciences.
