Scientific and methodological seminar titled “Development of a Teaching and Methodological Manual.”

On June 19, 2026, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages at the Faculty of International Relations, Yergaliyeva K.O., held a scientific and methodological seminar titled “Development of a Teaching and Methodological Manual.” Preparing successful and promising students is one of the pressing issues in higher education. Employers place high demands on university graduates, including a strong command of foreign languages. Therefore, foreign languages become a tool for developing the intellectual potential of society. K.O. Yergalieva emphasized that the initial stage of learning a foreign language is very important, as it lays the foundation for developing speech skills. To address this issue, it is necessary to create modern teaching and methodological literature. One such teaching aid is “French for Non-Linguistic Specialties,” published at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in 2024, which consists of three parts: an introductory course, a main course, and an appendix for instructors containing transcripts of audio and video recordings.
The seminar addressed several issues: requirements for scientific and methodological literature for non-linguistic specialties, development of intercultural competence, use of online games and innovative technologies, use of authentic materials, stages of working with texts, students’ independent work, and the structure of introductory and main courses. K.O. Yergalieva provided a detailed explanation of the ways to develop a teaching and methodological manual and gave examples from her own work. She also demonstrated her authorial methodological developments using Wordwall, Padlet, and Prezi. The scientific and methodological seminar was attended by the faculty members of the department and a representative of the Faculty of International Relations administration, the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, R.E. Kussainova.
