Risk Management Methods Course Held at ENU

The Institute of Continuing Education, in collaboration with the Risk Management Service, conducted an advanced training course titled «Methods and Approaches to Risk Identification, Assessment, and Management.»
During the training, participants explored international risk management standards, the regulatory and legal framework for risk governance, methods of risk analysis, identification and assessment, as well as the development of mitigation measures. Special attention was given to integrating a risk-based approach into organizational management processes and using risk management tools in decision-making.
Course lecturer Zhanar Smagulova introduced participants to current practices in risk management, provided a detailed overview of the key stages of the risk management process, and presented practical examples of applying a risk-oriented approach in organizational activities.
According to the survey results, participants highlighted the relevance and practical value of the training materials, the high quality of organization, the clarity of delivery, and the lecturer’s professionalism. They expressed gratitude to the organizers and noted that the course helped them develop a comprehensive understanding of risk identification, assessment, and management processes.
As recommendations for improving the program, participants suggested increasing the number of practical case studies, group work, and interactive learning formats, using more examples from university practice, and expanding staff participation in risk management training.
Creating conditions for accessible and high-quality continuing education aimed at developing professional competencies and improving staff efficiency remains one of the key priorities of the Institute of Continuing Education.
