
Faculty Members of the Department of Sociology Presented Their Research at an International Conference in Spain

From 10 to 12 June 2026, Ayazhan Kuatova and Gulaziya Isakhova, Senior Lecturers at the Department of Sociology of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and researchers of the international SOLID project, participated in an international conference in Barcelona, Spain, dedicated to modern treatment strategies, clinical virology, molecular epidemiology, and public health issues related to HIV infection and viral hepatitis.
At the conference, they presented their research entitled "Social Determinants of Health-Related Quality of Life in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis C in Kazakhstan," which examined the quality of life of patients with chronic hepatitis C in Kazakhstan and analyzed the social factors affecting their physical and psychological well-being.
The conference provided an opportunity to learn about the latest international research and clinical practices in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of viral hepatitis, as well as to discuss prospects for future international scientific collaboration with colleagues from different countries.
The participation was supported by the international SOLID (Social Work and Strengthening NGOs in Development Cooperation to Treat Drug Addiction) project, which aims to strengthen research capacity, promote international collaboration, and advance studies in public health and social work.
