Teachers of the National Research University of Uzbekistan gave lectures at ENU on the methodology of teaching foreign languages

The Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department of the Faculty of Philology has developed a positive culture of knowledge exchange and in this regard between October 26 and 28 this year, experts in the field of foreign language teaching methods from the National Research University “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” (Uzbekistan), Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Foreign Language Teaching Theory and Methods Department Gulnoza Sabirova, PhD, Associate Professor of the Foreign Language Teaching Theory and Methods Department Barnokhon Samatova, PhD, senior lecturer of the Foreign Language Teaching Theory and Methods Department Kamola Alautdinova held a number of events at ENU. During the visit, they delivered lectures on courses “Specially-Oriented Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages” and “Foreign Language Teaching Methods” for 4th year bachelor’s students, shared with ENU master’s students information on the use of web technologies in language teaching.
A lecture on the peculiarities of behavior and social constructivism aroused great interest among students. The level of lectures and seminars conducted by the Tashkent colleagues testifies to their extensive international practice – they are fellows of the Norwich Institute of Language Training (Great Britain), the University of Oregon (USA). PhD K.M. Alautdinova is the holder of the CELTA certificate, which serves as a confirmation of a very high international qualification of the English teacher.
The visit program of our foreign colleagues included a seminar on the topic “TIIAME NRU of Uzbekistan Welcomes You”, which resulted in the decision of the Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department students to participate in the academic mobility program and visit the National Research University of Uzbekistan in the next academic year. There were also meetings with the Faculty Dean Ardak B. Beisenbay and Director of the International Cooperation Department Anastasia V. Karmelyuk. One of the priorities of the cooperation of the two universities includes joint scientific publications, development of double-degree study programs and participation in the QS rating.
