
L.N. Gumilyov ENU Participates in the Regular Meeting of the Kazakhstan Association of Silver Universities

L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, one of the founding members of the Kazakhstan Association of Silver Universities (KASU), took part in the Association’s regular meeting hosted by Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau University.
During the meeting, KASU members unanimously approved the admission of Arkalyk Pedagogical University named after Ybyrai Altynsarin to the Association. The expansion of KASU membership will further strengthen inter-university cooperation and contribute to the development of educational opportunities for older adults.
Particular attention was given to the Association’s international cooperation. Participants were informed that, following the 116th General Assembly, the President of KASU was officially elected to the Governing Board of the International Association of Universities of the Third Age (AIUTA). This significant achievement opens new opportunities for expanding international partnerships and enhancing the global recognition of Kazakhstan’s Silver Universities.
The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of the first KASU Summer School, held at the Tulpar Sports and Recreation Complex. The project brought together representatives of member universities, creating a unified educational and communication platform for experience sharing, learning, and professional development. Following the discussion, it was decided that the Summer School will become an annual event.
As part of the Association’s efforts to strengthen international collaboration, a visit by the leadership of the International Association of Universities of the Third Age (AIUTA) and the ISTHIA Institute of the University of Toulouse is planned.
In addition, work is underway to establish a unified information portal for the Association. The portal will enhance the transparency of KASU’s activities, facilitate effective cooperation among member universities, and improve international access to information.
