
Aida Yerkenovna Aubakirova successfully defended her dissertation

On May 25, 2026, Aida Yerkenovna Aubakirova successfully defended her dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University under the educational program "8D01717 – Kazakh Language and Literature." The title of her dissertation was "New Terms in the Kazakh Language: Formation and Usage (Theoretical and Methodological Aspects). "The dissertation was completed between 2021 and 2024 at the Department of Kazakh Linguistics of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
The purpose of the dissertation research was to comprehensively investigate the formation, usage, development, linguistic nature, and theoretical and methodological foundations of new terms in the Kazakh language. The study also aimed to identify the principal patterns of term formation in modern Kazakh and to analyze their use in academic discourse and the educational process from both theoretical and linguodidactic perspectives.
The domestic scientific supervisor was Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Sherubay Kurmanbayuly. According to the results of the voting, it was decided to award Aida Yerkenovna Aubakirova the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the educational program "8D01717 – Kazakh Language and Literature" within the field of study "8D017 – Teacher Training in Languages and Literature."
