Miramgul Serguzhayevna Mnaidarova successfully defended doctoral dissertation

On June 24, 2026, at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, the dissertation defense of Miramgul Serguzhayevna Mnaidarova was held for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) under the educational program “8D02305 – Philology.” The dissertation was titled “The Morphological and Derivational Structure of Anthroponyms Common to the Kazakh and Turkish Languages.” The dissertation research was carried out between 2020 and 2023 at the Department of Kazakh Linguistics of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

The purpose of the dissertation research was to determine the morphological and derivational structure of common anthroponyms in the Kazakh and Turkish languages. In addition, the study conducted a comparative-typological analysis of Kazakh and Turkish anthroponyms.

The domestic scientific supervisor was Gulnar Adebietkyzy Sarseke, Candidate of Philological Sciences and Acting Professor of the Department of Kazakh Linguistics at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The foreign scientific consultant was Ibrahim Şahin, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Professor at the Institute of Turkic World Studies of Ege University.

Based on the voting results, it was decided to award M.S. Mnaidarova the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the field of training “8D023 – Languages and Literature” (educational programs “8D02305 – Philology,” “6D020500 – Philology,” “8D02314 – Literary Studies,” and “6D021300 – Literary Studies”).
